Careers
Backend engineer - NodeJS / Rust
Paris, France - hybridHybridFull time
👉 This role is based in Paris as the whole team is here, 3 days / week at the office.
👉 You don't have to match 100% of the requirements. If you believe you're a strong fit, we'd love to hear from you.
🌟We just raised $35M in Series A, if you join Tsuga you will experience a strong growth.
About the role & the team
You will join the “central team” composed of 4 senior engineers, all reporting directly to Louis and working hand in hand with every other engineering and product team.
This team is one of the heaviest users of Tsuga internally, giving engineers first-hand insight into product improvements and customer pain points.
We move fast and ship to prod several times a day. We lean hard on AI, but not blindly: our problems are hard and can’t be AI-slopped away. That’s why we maintain a high bar on reviews and why you’ll learn a lot here.
Key Responsibilities
- Build critical features: Design and ship features end-to-end that solve real customer problems and hold up gracefully as complexity grows.
- Own the platform: Solve issues throughout our entire stack, build what you’d want to use in the product
- Push our AI frontier: Partner with Data Science to build the systems that let AI agents retrieve the right data, act through our APIs, and troubleshoot incidents autonomously.
- Collaborate broadly: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Product, Frontend, and Storage, and jump into cross-functional task forces as priorities shift.
Technical stack
- Typescript, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, AWS ECS/Lambda for workloads running in our cloud
- Rust, Helm, Kubernetes for the workloads running in our customer’s cloud
- Terraform/Pulumi to manage our infra
About you & what we are looking for
- Experience:
- You have 3+ years building software, ideally in early-stage or high-growth environments where you've constantly traded off quality against velocity.
- Prior exposure to distributed systems or the observability industry.
- Builder's mindset: Starting from a blank page doesn't scare you. You lean on your colleagues' knowledge to move faster, and you default to working out loud and collaboratively.
- Customer-obsessed: We dogfood Tsuga every day, so you care how the product is actually used and want to contribute ideas.
- Pragmatic problem solver: You enjoy ambiguous, undefined problems and reach for the simplest solution that actually works.
- Communication: You're comfortable working in English every day: Tsuga spans the US, the Middle East, and Europe.
- Range over specialty: You happily get your hands dirty across the whole product and codebase, and you'd rather own a problem end-to-end than stay boxed into one layer.
- Bonus: Experience in NodeJS and Rust is much appreciated

Working at Tsuga
- 🔥 We move fast. As an early-stage startup, we are pragmatic, we value ownership, and quick feedback over unnecessary process and hierarchy.
- 🙏 We solve problems, not blame people. When something goes wrong, we fix it, learn from it, and improve the system.
- 🛠️ We are builders. We start everything from a blank page and we lean on your colleagues' knowledge to move faster.
- 🙇 We are customer-obsessed. We dogfood Tsuga every day, so you care how the product is actually used and want to contribute ideas.
- 💥 We lean hard on AI, but not blindly. Our problems are hard and can’t be AI-slopped away.
- 🌍 We're international from day one. Every quarter, the whole team meets at our French office to align on company goals, celebrate wins, and connect with teammates from the US, UK, the Middle East, and across Europe.
